The challenge for the "Keep Your Eye on the Planet" competition was to incorporate an embroidered eye or pair of eyes into a 60 x 60 cm textile artwork, interpreting the multifaceted theme in the process. 113 entries were submitted from 12 European countries. The three jury members selected 45 textile works. Ecological aspects were a central focus of many of these pieces, particularly the ocean, which covers two-thirds of the Earth's surface. A deep concern for one's fellow human beings is expressed in several works. Viewing these expressive portraits encourages us to take care of the planet and to treat each other with respect. A gallery book accompanying the exhibition has been published by german Maro publisher.
