Silk Embroidery
These delicate silk embroideries are hand-stitched (petit point) by Herat, Afghanistan.
Note: The colorful rectangles, created using the Keshide technique, measure 6 x 4 cm.
Two nearly identical pieces, measuring 3 x 4 cm, are also produced, which can be used, for example, to make earrings.
About the triangular embroidery, it measures approximately 11 x 5 cm (approx. 27.5 cm²)
The large white embroideries, Khamakdusi, in white/white, white/blue or white/yellow Khamakdusi stitch, measure about 8 x 13 cm.
All of these embroideries are machine washable up to 60°C; they are made with silk yarns from the German company MADEIRA Garne, our sponsor.
