In my work I wanted to set a positive sign, hence the warm colours. The Afghan squares represent plants, freshly discovered and still somewhat unfamiliar. But we are no longer familiar with our native plants either and often only know them from books – hence the pages from old botanical books. From our childhood days we remember drying and pressing flowers and plants to use them in handicraft works. Today these flowers can be bought readymade in shops.
