Looking at the Afghan embroidered squares they immediately reminded me of the photos I had seen of Afghanistan: many shades of brown, with a little green here and there. I would love to see flowers blossoming again in Afghanistan, just like in this quilt. Japanese fabrics, stitched on the sewing machine and embroidered. Flowers and blades of grass made from wool, silk, cotton and gauze, embroidered by hand.
